Solid Wood Stools by Karim Rashid for Riva1920

Riva 1920 is passionate about working with solid wood – so it’s no wonder that the Fiore and Delta stools designed by Karim Rashid were quickly swept up by the brand. Both stools are fun and unconventional with loads of personality. Both are made from solid cedar wood. Fiore clearly resembles a flower, each outer unit reminding us of a petal. Delta can remind us of many things, one being change due to its random shape, another could it be its vague reference to triangles or maybe a split of some kind, if we’re considering its name, that is. Either way, these stools boast highly original designs. They make great accent pieces that are not only good for sitting on, but that could also warm a space and instill intrigue. Find out more at Riva1920.

Gorgeous Glass House Connects With Its Surroundings Creating a Visual Spectacle

Modern architects and designers are placing as much emphasis on creating beautiful modern homes that stay connected with the environment around them at all times, as they are on sleek and stylish interiors. And in this effort to add visual space and make the exteriors a part of the house, one has seen a growing trend in employing glass extensively and expansively.

This stylish home located in Ramat Hasharon — a city on Israel’s central coastal strip in the south of the Sharon region — is all about living it up in an ultra0cool fashion. Designed by Levy-Chamizer Architects, the home does its best to ensure that the lines between the exterior and the interior are blurred by using floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

Eco Friendly Furniture by Flohr Design

Flohr Design makes some stylish furniture and interior products using a unique eco friendly material. It all started when Christian Reder planted some Sakhalin knotweed in his yard. The stuff grows like weeds, with tall shoots with luscious leaves. In order to keep it from soon taking over the whole yard, he had to cut a lot of it away but felt terrible about burning the tubular shoots, which happened to be very light but incredibly strong. Some experimentation led him to develop a unique material. He embedded the shoots into a mixture of cold glue and wood flour and now calls it Flohr. Looking closely at the furniture, you can see the cross sectioned material, which reveals an interesting perforated texture and pattern – giving the pieces a very unique look. And since the material has such a short regrowth period, it makes it a perfectly sustainable and eco friendly solution for furniture and other interior products. Fun stuff! Rich Mid Century Retro Home In Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California is home to so many classic, mid-century modern homes– and the Meyerhofer Residence isn’t a whole lot different, except for its completely retro vibe. There’s a superb eclectic collection of found goods, exquisite furniture and rich colors throughout; and the wood paneling on the walls in the various rooms is in top notch condition. When it comes to cutting down on construction and material costs, along with implementing energy-saving methods, one need not always turn towards ‘futuristic’ solutions alone. This beautiful and inviting house in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam merges the best of both worlds as the builders of this home, MM++ Architects were asked to create a stylish contemporary home that has a high-end feel, despite being built on limited budget.
