We have told of many cool vases – a cool fall pumpkin vase, industrial chic vaseand many others. These cuties are made of empty beer bottles, spray paint of various colors, painter’s tape and puff paint. Wash the bottles and peel the labels off. Spray two coats on a bottle, grab your painter’s tape and start making patterns. Use puff paint to create dotted designs that pop out from the bottle. Let dry for about 30 minutes before spray painting. Now add water and flowers and decorate your space with these cool and simple vases!

Swiss studio Sofia Designers combined two daily used objects into a simple design duo – a round mirror and a hanger – and named it the Orion Mirror. Showcasing that special charm displayed by versatile objects, this simple, round, multifunctional object minimizes complexity in favor of simplicity. Imagine catching your reflection in the 26 cm high mirror, leaving your coat to hang on the fluidly designed peg and continuing on with your daily activities. When you head out, you see the mirror again – it just seems worth it to see a beautifully designed object every time you interact with your coat. Not only clothes, but also keys and towels, shopping bags or hats can become part of the display. Made out of durable anodized aluminum and showcasing a minimalist but hard to ignore design, the Orion Mirror shows its creators’ industrial design influence and how Stéphane Badet and Laurent De Bernardini managed to update their knowledge to shape a contemporary home accessory.

In a complex design world, we have a tendency to overdo it – to see negative space as the enemy and cover every square inch of a room in colors, patterns, knick knacks, artwork and other elements. We’re often taught that when it comes to design, a room is a blank slate to be filled with items that reflect your own personal tastes in every corner. However, all too often, it is easy to forget the power of white. Simple and pure, using white as the primary principle of your design can make a louder statement than even the boldest patterns in the world.

Trinkets and little personal items are hard to display without having to constantly think about dust. And then there is that part of us that wants to beautifully display our precious items under a spot light, so they would be admired the way they were meant to. Norwegian designer Kristine Five Melvaer captured these wishes in a set of fun glass jars presented under the name “Light Jars”. Objects communicate with us and this exact feature of inanimate items challenged the designer to create the Light Jar family.

Sweden, one of the wonderful Scandinavian countries, is famous for its natural beauty and especially the houses with brilliant designs. This time we have spotted a Swedish house decorated with natural wood and white shades. The simple building has been intelligently impressive in its practical approach used for designing. As seen in most of the Scandinavian interiors, the inside of this particular house comes with the same combination of black and white nuances.
